Time in New Caledonia:

The past year and a half have seen many changes here for our family.  Probably one of the more stressful periods of our lives so far.  With the winding down of my old business; then a new startup company; moving into town; uncertain on where we should be so choosing to rent a house; just to have the owners sell it on us after a couple months; plus all the challenges of teenagers, schools, etc. etc.  We were ready for a break.  :)

Throughout though, we have felt that we must keep trusting God for the future.

The idea of a trip so far away, and for longer than normal,  was a bit daunting at first, but we knew it would give us the break we needed, allowing us to refocus, de-stress and get to enjoy some family time all together.  Brennan is 17 already and this could be our last full family trip.  And having done the Disneyland-type trips before, our hope for this trip is that it can be eye-opening for each of us, and provide us with more meaningful memories.

New Caledonia is an island in the South Pacific.  We have a couple of our ministers there preaching the gospel, and we are looking forward to visiting them.  It is somewhat off the beaten path and so not many visitors come.

The island is about 16000 sq km, and has a population of about 224,000
